Remmina, the coolest thing since GRDC
Well GRDC turned into Remmina. If you do a lot of remote computing and run a Human OS then this package could be what you need.
It is a one-stop remote client for all your VNC, RDP, SFTP, XDCMP and SSH connections (noable exception NX thin client). SSH tunneling of FTP, RDP and VNC connections is a breeze. No more perusing through client manuals, setting displays, hidden key sequences to control sessions (all remote connections have a dropdown box in full screen mode) and you can share printers and folders very easily between client and server. The developer (Vic) is very cool and was very helpful to a newb like me when I noticed a bug.
In Ubuntu you just add the ppa and install the remmina-gnome package from synaptic. Then add it to your gnome panel.
Need for a float
Hey first entry in the blog. It will probably be a ramble about Science, Ubuntu and life in Japan. Let's see how it develops.
